Radiators hot at the top, cold at the bottom?
That is almost always sludge. Over the years, corrosion inside the radiators and pipework settles at the bottom and stops the water circulating properly. The radiator still gets warm at the top, so the system looks like it is working, but you are heating a fraction of the surface and paying for all of it.
A power flush clears it out. We then fit a magnetic filter so it does not come straight back. If your system is noisy, slow to warm up, or has radiators you have bled a dozen times, that is usually the same problem.
Full systems, upgrades and designer radiators
We design and install complete central heating systems, upgrade existing ones, and fit column, flat panel and vertical designer radiators as well as heated towel rails. Vertical radiators are worth knowing about if wall space is tight, because they give you the same output in a fraction of the width.
Thermostatic valves, zoning and smart wireless controls can usually be added to an existing system without replacing it, which is a much cheaper way to cut a heating bill than starting again.
Straight answers on repair or replace
A heating system that is twenty years old is not automatically finished, and one that is five years old is not automatically fine. What matters is the state of the pipework, the boiler and how the system has been looked after.
We will tell you which of those it is, and if a repair will see you through another few winters, we will say so. Fifteen years of doing this in the same city means our reputation is worth more than one oversold job.
